TikTok vs Instagram
Case Study

TikTok vs Instagram

In the last 5 years, there have been many social media platforms that have come and gone. The two most popular platforms in the last 5 years have been Instagram and TikTok. However, since early 2019 the amount of traction TikTok has gained has been unmatched to any other social platform at a global level. Instagram Instagram, also known as “IG” or “Insta,” is one of the leading social networking app globally. The app was initially launched in 2010. Today the app has a lot of features including filters, direct messaging, Instagram stories and their newest introduction IGTV which is a vertical video viewing platform. Facebook acquired Instagram for approximately $1 billion in 2012.  As of 2018, Instagram has 1 billion active users on a global level and 400 million daily active users. However, once hailed as a leading social media app, Instagram is losing ground to Tik Tok. Instagram was one of the first and foremost platforms where the term influencers were introduced and many individuals became influencers in the food, fashion and lifestyle space.  Figures with thousands and millions of followers have risen to fame and reach a large audience of faithful followers. However, some notable creators have been moving over to Tik Tok and embracing this new, rapidly growing platform. Why are creators and influencers flocking to Tik Tok? DreaKnowsBest explains that “Tik Tok is doing a lot when it comes to marketing” and helping creators in their efforts on the platform. Specifically, “Instagrammers are starting to come on because they realize that the activity is insane…You can build a large audience [quickly] if you’re talented.” In addition to Instagrammers, YouTubers are joining the movement as well.  It’s clear that Tik Tok is making waves in the social app space. With an explosion of growth, Tik Tok is expected to continue a steep upward trend. Whereas this new app is enjoying its hockey stick trajectory, Instagram growth is slowly dropping from 13 percent user growth in 2018 to projected growth of 8 percent in 2019.  TikTok To understand TikTok we need to understand its beginning. TikTok started as Musically and was acquired by Bytedance in 2017. In 2018 Musically was rebranded as TikTok.  In May 2019 TikTok reclaimed the no. 1 position in app stores across India. TikTok as a platform has memes, challenges, and extremely entertaining content. TikTok has many challenges one can participate in from various brands or TikTok itself from time to time some being for the greater good. #CreateforaCause, which invited creators to help raise funds for DoSomething.org, Best Friends Animal Society, and Oceana, ended up with $2 million to donate. Tiktok as of today has one of the most engaged audiences across India with over 170 million + monthly active users.  References:  Instazood.com and neoreach.com

How Social Media has Become a Ubiquitous Part of Our Daily Life

Let’s be honest, I don’t think most of us would want to spend a day away without our smartphones. There is so much talk about social networks and social media everywhere. These conversations of eCommerce, valuations and the sheer time we spend on them have blended into our everyday lives. The question is what is social media and how did it become such a crucial part of our life. Social networks have opened new horizons of devising and learning new information, sharing ideas and connecting with others. Social media has notably changed the way people interact and carry on with their everyday lives on social networks. People using the internet, spend most of their time on social media sites. Realistically speaking the consumer-facing the internet is only about 20 years old. The impact of this on our lives is unimaginable! Just put it into numbers, Facebook has 1.65 billion monthly active users, with each user spending an average of 10–20 minutes a day on it. So the way I look at it, social media is the current state of the internet. The only thing that matters is where people invest their time and attention. Social media, these days have greatly changed the way people spend their leisure time, so it is difficult not to acknowledge that we as humans are living through the greatest cultural shift in communication and content consumption since the invention of the telephone and television. Only a few things have had this influence on people as Social media. These sites are certainly a step toward world globalization. There is a range of social media sites available, you can find any to suit your convenience and lifestyle. Everyone Has An Opinion On Marketing, Here’s Ours!

Marketing itself is a very open term has made people have various opinions. With various aspects involved within the term such as ATL, BTL, digital engagement etc, everyone’s perspective about the same differs from the other. With time, the ideologies and ways to work in the market has changed. There are the old-school agencies that tend to focus most of their efforts in branding activities like brand awareness, plans to design memorable logos to boost brand recall value etc as it is believed to have larger importance in terms of creativity and earning. The new-age thinking has very subtly blended in the marketing activities recently that believes in generating creative ideas to get in touch and engage with the audience. It has been extremely crucial to balance the two where branding, as well as direct customer relationship, needs to be focused on. With the constant clash between the branding and digital agencies that follow varied ideologies, here is our simple opinion on Marketing, “It doesn’t make sense if it doesn’t add value”. A strategy of 5 years to create an impeccable brand recall is not something that we believe in. If creating a brand recall with a single-digit number on a personal, one-on-one level is achieved, it talks a lot because word of mouth in today’s time is what works the best. It is important to create an action that talks about your brand, make people use your brand and talk about it themselves to generate an audience organically. This is the simple logic we believe in, “Every action that a brand takes, has to help them gain something in return. There has to be an ROI on it and if it doesn’t, that’s a massive waste of time and money.” We are one of the best Digital Media Agencies in Mumbai providing complete internet marketing services like SEO, Social Media, PPC, SEM and much more. 5 Mistakes You Might Be Making In Your Social Media Campaign

5 Mistakes You Might Be Making In Your Social Media Campaign

From the multinational brand to that restaurant around the corner, everyone is trying its hand on social media marketing. But not all of them are acing it actually they are far from even doing it right. They are unable to grasp the concept of how to market on social media.Acing a social media campaign is not an easy task and there are many mistakes that you might be doing without even realizing it. 1. Not making a plan This may sound cliched but it’s true, many fail to plan out a campaign before starting to work on it. Having a basic idea is not enough, you need to plan it out thoroughly. The platforms you are going to be on, the kind of content you need to create and the action you want your audience to take. 2. Too many platforms but not appropriate content It’s another common mistake. There are too many platforms out there and trust me you don’t need to be on all of them. Choose the platforms that you have the strongest audience on and create content according to those platforms and then cross-promote. 3. Too much brand mentions not enough value Though you are making a campaign for creating the buzz around your brand and product don’t let it hijack the entire thing. Don’t fill your posts with only brand mentions instead create content that adds value to the reader’s experience. Remember that if you are asking for their attention, pay them back with value. 4. Scheduling all your posts ahead of time It’s a rather easy and tempting mistake to make. Let’s face it, it’s a lot easier that way. You can just create all the content ahead of time and schedule it for later. But doing so you miss out on lots of opportunities and conversations because you are not participating in what everyone else is talking about. 5. You haven’t tried that new fancy feature Social platforms are fighting to stay alive ( and outdo each other) so the major platforms are constantly rolling out new features every now and then to help both individuals and brands. Be more prompt to try out the new features next time and see if your brand can benefit from it. Unpredictable in its own way Being a relatively new phenomenon, Social Media has proven to be an ever-changing field where no activity can be bound by any rule. If you’re a creative person and want to work at the forefront of a changing digital industry, then social media is a great area to get into. 3. It’s becoming essential Social Media has now emerged to be the new internet. It is no doubt that of all the internet users, the majority use it to maintain their presence on Social Media. Social Media is much more than the basic platforms and includes a lot many aspects including going out and networking, writing blogs, research for articles, studying statistics, keeping an eye on competitors and share interesting material. What Works Best On Instagram?

What Works Best On Instagram?

Among the variety of social media platforms, Instagram is known to be the photo and video sharing social networking site that has the maximum user-base as compared to the others. Instagram has become a huge phenomenon in recent times. Social Media is an experimental channel that allows users and developers to try and introduce new features. Instagram, for instance, introduced it’s Instagram Stories earlier this month that would help the users capture and share stories that disappear in 24hours, a concept replica of the Snapchat Stories. The reactions of the users to the same have been varied. Few seem to still be trying to get their hand on it, some dislike the replication and some simply love it. There are certain things that work well on Instagram and if you are an avid user of the app, you might want to consider using these tips to strengthen and grow your following base: 1. Good Quality Pictures Irrespective of whether you are posting a selfie or a scenic image, it should be of good quality. As basic as the rule is, the success of Instagram relies on the same. You cannot increase your follower base if you don’t give them quality pictures. Blurry images from random angles of weird things are not going to help you gain followers. 2. Long Captions Contrary to popular beliefs, people love reading longer captions on your photos than just 2 lines describing the image. For instance, people do take the efforts to read through the entire “Humans of Bombay” captions to know more about the featured person (s). And a caption also has the power to capture the interest of the reader; just as much the picture has! 3. Use the Right Hashtags Instagram works highly on the hashtag search policy, especially if you check out the explore feed. So, you want to make sure that your image pops up in others’ explore, use the right hashtags and at the right place. Overuse of the hashtags is not an option these days considering the fact that Instagram changed its algorithm to suit user preferences. As basic as the hacks are, they need to be kept in mind to help an increase of the engagement rate on your Instagram as well as help you understand what works for your brand more effectively.

10 Questions to Ask Potential SEO Clients
Search Engine Optimization

10 Questions to Ask Potential SEO Clients

This blog will help you to focus on taking over a new business that is right for you and getting all the needed details to think of the best possible strategy for your potential clients. The key here is making things as easy as possible for the client and yourself.  1. Are you targeting any particular keywords? If so, please mention them Before discussing anything, it’s always better to know the clients’ keywords before starting keyword research. This detail will give clarity as to which keyword needs to focus and which not.   2. What are Your Main Goals and KPIs? It’s very important to know what their goals and KPIs should be so it’s always good to ask them. This information will help the clients to understand if their goals and KPIs are realistic and achievable. 3. What Is Your Main USP? (Unique Selling Point) This is something you can work by yourself but in case you are not clear then ask. We like to find out what is the thing in which the client thinks that it makes them different from the others. As a part of your consultancy offering, you can talk about ways that can better leverage their USPs. Like are they using USPs in their metadata to win higher CTR from the SERPs or does their landing page content speak about their USPs and so on. 4. Any specific location? If the potential client is planning on a global level then you’ll have to drill down on their priority geolocations and you can talk about providing multilingual SEO.  If your client is targeting one specific country, like the United States Of America, for example, make sure you suggest keywords that reflect in Google Search Console. Go to: Search Traffic > International Targeting > Country > Target users in the United States Of America. Helping clients at this stage will go a long way as it will help you to build trust and you win more chances of getting selected over your competitors. 5. After a potential customer visits your site, what specifically do you want them to do? It’s basically to know what their goal is like if it’s an e-commerce website then do they want people to add to cart or if it’s a WordPress website then do they want to place an inquiry. get an accurate answer for this then we will be able to project this further.  6. What Level of Support Will We Have From the In-house Team? Apart from the website developer, you need to know the people you will be communicating with. You also need to know if they have in-house writers, designers, or even digital marketers who will be part of the collaboration, as this will help you to estimate as to how much you need to charge regarding the copywriting and graphic designing, etc as a part of your SEO contract.  7. What kind of CMS was the website built on? If you have access to it, then you can work this by yourself but if we do not then you should surely raise this question. It’s better to know in the initial stage as to how friendly the back-end is. if it’s customized then you should see that you have all the right functionality for the on-page Seo optimization that you’ll be doing. If it’s a mess, then now is the time that you tel;l your potential client to upgrade it as there is nothing worse than starting SEO on a worst CMS.  8.According to you, who are your three biggest competitors? Has your site ever been penalized?  According to you, who are your three biggest competitors? You might have done your complete research, but it’s always better to ask the client as to whom do they consider their competitor.  At times, these competitors were not even included in your list as they were not very competitive in the SERPs, so after compiling all the information, you can gauge their real competitor. Has your site ever been penalized? If you get access to their Google Analytics, you will be able to find out if there is any penalty but yet prefer asking the potential client if they had any manual or algorithmic penalty. Knowing about their previous penalties, it will give you an idea regarding the health of your potential client’s domain.  9. Are there any other domains or sites that you own or control? (Please list them all) It’s always good to know what other domain and subdomain a client have, and if they want you to work on those sites as well. It’s preferable to ask them beforehand to avoid any kind of awkward conversations down the line when the client says I have other websites too and can you do such similar things on those websites under the same subscription fee.  10. What do you expect to get out of this SEO project This is very important to ask as this would help us to know as to what we need to focus on like some clients have the requirement to be ranked on 1st page while some have to rank only on local listing while some wants to rank on top, hence it’s better to ask then to do it from your end.  Being one of the Best SEO Companies in Mumbai, India we analyze your website in order to determine which keywords you should be targeting and accordingly rank higher in google search and get more organic traffic. Best Way to Prepare Yourself for Entrepreneurship

Best Way to Prepare Yourself for Entrepreneurship

After having an opportunity of conversing with a crowd of college students recently, I have come to realize that the “entrepreneurship is cool” trend has been successful in prevailing through the years. I believe that following the trend has made most of them go wrong while taking the crucial decisions of their life. Most of them don’t seem to know what it is about and what it entails until they get into it. Everybody wants to be their own bosses and feel happy with the misconception that building a brand or a business takes only 2–3 years of time. With none of them deciding on being an entrepreneur for the right reasons, here are the best ways to test yourself and know if entrepreneurship is for you. The most important thing is to know what kind of entrepreneur you are. You either belong to the lot that can come up with an idea but are somehow unable to run a business or the lot that can execute an idea and successfully run the business. Entrepreneurs belonging to the first one always end up looking for a co-founder and it’s crucial to determine whether you need one or you don’t. The second most important thing is to analyze your idea. What is it and how do you work on it to make something huge out of it. Every idea must be passion-driven, something that makes you want to leave behind all the physical and mental barriers that stop you from achieving it. Maintaining a long term vision for your brand is an absolute necessity. It is not wise to be carried away by an idea that is “in” presently with not a great future. Entrepreneurship is not for those who wish to make a “quick buck”. Coming up with an idea that sounds good is easy but ask yourself whether it’s practical. The only thing I keep saying to those looking forward to being an entrepreneur is that don’t fall in love with your idea. The last thing that is a must-know is who your customers are. Analyze your audience, research as much as you can about who they are and what do they want. There might a really great idea that has struck your mind but it would be of no use if the customer doesn’t respond to it in a particular manner. Every business is a fail till the time the customers begin to find it interesting. Understanding their interests, need, price-sensitivity is the crux of every new business. Mastering the three things that I have mentioned can help me be a good entrepreneur. Everything else can be learned over a period of time. I believe that failure is a part of entrepreneurship on a daily basis. So if you nail everything else and aren’t too moved by the smaller daily failures and what people think about you. Take the ownership and the responsibility of your business and have a bit of a thick skin as if you don’t, you’d never be able to make your decisions that you can trust.
